Our Story

Dr. David Wagner and Dr. Dan Pinar met over a decade ago—two Midwest guys with big dreams, big city energy, and a shared belief that dentistry should feel human.

They first connected when Dr. Wagner was in residency at UCLA. Wanting to surround himself with the best, he reached out to Dr. Pinar. One dinner in West Hollywood turned into years of friendship, shared values, and constant “shop talk” about how to make the dental experience better.

As their careers evolved—Dr. Wagner in Santa Monica, Dr. Pinar in West Hollywood—they stayed close, catching up regularly about life, new techniques, and the future of the profession.

When Dr. McFadden retired and Dr. Pinar completed his brand-new Beverly Boulevard office, the timing felt right. They teamed up.

Now, together, they bring a fresh, compassionate, and modern approach to dentistry—rooted in trust, advanced care, and a genuine love for people.

This isn’t just a partnership. It’s a shared mission: to make you feel seen, safe, and smiling.

  • Dr. Dan Pinar has been practicing dentistry since 1998. Known for his gentle touch and precise technique, he’s also deeply valued by patients for his warmth, clear communication, and attentive listening.

Originally from a small town in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Dr. Pinar spent eight years at the University of Michigan, earning both his undergraduate and DDS degrees. He then practiced in New York City for eleven years before heading to Los Angeles in 2009 in search of sunshine and new challenges.

That same year, he joined the West Hollywood dental office of Dr. James K. McFadden. When Dr. McFadden retired in 2016, Dr. Pinar continued the legacy, eventually expanding the practice into what is now Pinar & Wagner.

“I’m a firm believer in conservative treatment,” says Dr. Pinar. “Taking the time to do smaller, more thoughtful dentistry often leads to the best—and most lasting—results.”

  • Dr. David Wagner has been practicing dentistry for over a decade. He joined this dental practice in 2010 after already establishing himself in the field, including time spent at a thriving dental office in Santa Monica.

Originally from near Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Wagner earned his DDS from Creighton University. In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UCLA, where he focused on complex restorative work, dental implants, TMJ disorders, and advanced bite analysis.

He then completed the UCLA Esthetic Program, further deepening his expertise in smile design and functional dental aesthetics. Today, Dr. Wagner teaches at UCLA’s Center for Esthetic Dentistry, where he shares his knowledge through multiple courses.

"For me, teaching while running my practice is the perfect balance," says Dr. Wagner. "UCLA’s program keeps me sharp and constantly learning from the best in the field. It fuels my passion to bring cutting-edge care to my patients."
